A New Strategy

Here”s something that comes as a shock to me.  I realize that some of the greatest strategists of today are gamers.  After all, its about the angles and teamwork.  The irony is that most teams or clans cannot manage the social aspect that is involved when it comes to online gaming.  When the going gets tough your true colors come out, and this means the good and the bad.  This is something that most team leaders don”t understand and when the pressure comes, the primary focus is about winning the match, getting more members, how to hold onto that server, etc.  But if team leaders would seize the opportunity by looking a little closer, they would begin to see the strengths and weaknesses of their teamates and begin to manage the team more efficiently.

But more importantly, what about the value of the friendships that are made when you join a team.  How does it rank compared to winning matches, amount of servers, members, etc?  What is it that players and teams are really after?  Is it not the pleasure that comes from working together to accomplish a common goal?  Or even just having a friend or group of friends to be with after a hard day?  And yet we can get lost in our own adrenaline-filled worlds forgetting that those around us are actually people.  And usually it is the leaders that are the most likely to fall into this trap.

I am proposing a new strategy to those who have suffered the wrath of dominating players and clans for too long.  As rewarding as it may seem to get the top score in a match, or have the most members or servers, start to focus on each other and value your friendships above anything else.  Help each other through the maps, the angles, the communication, and through the real every day things.  It”s time we learn to play as a team.
